Thousands of people have been getting hands on with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for the past 3 days here at Gamescom 2014. In the middle of the thousands of people were us. As 2 out of the 3 of us are massive Call of Duty players, playing Call of Duty from the very start of the franchise. We were very excited to be getting hands on with the multiplayer since Sledgehammer is a new addition to the Call of Duty franchise and they have introduced a lot of new additions to the game.
First il talk about what happened at Gamescom in terms of the Call of Duty booth then il talk about the game it self.
The Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare booth
We waited in line for around 30 minutes, wasn’t that long considering how long the line looked when we got in it. When they let us into the booth, there was a stage at the front and seats going up surrounding three sides of the stage. When we all gathered into the booth, there was around 100 of us in there. They was letting a side in at a time to play the game. While in the booth waiting to play the game, there was 2 pro teams playing at the front, with big screen at the top so that we could see the gameplay. The two teams Curse from America vs Giant from Spain. The 2 games that we saw Curse took the win on both games. After the two games, our side of the stage where let into the gaming area. We sat down and set up a class for the game.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare gameplay
We played 2 games, Team Deathmatch and Uplink. They did not release every gun and perk at the event, it was the same with Battlefield: Hardline, the multiplayer was limited. This did not stop us getting top of the leaderboards for both games that we played.
I must warn you, this game is going to be one of those games that you will either love or hate. If you are a true old fashioned Call of Duty player and do not like that much change, then you will not like this instalment of Call of Duty. However, if you are willing to accept change, then you will adapt quickly to the changes and love this game.
The new additions to the game in terms of the jumping and movement make the game very fast paced and a lot harder for people to sit in a corner and snipe you from across the map like the other Call of Duty’s. Out of the two maps we played, and the two maps that we saw the pro players play, it seems to be more of a run-and-gun type of game. So all you SMG and Shotgun lovers will really like this game. As for you snipers, if you can adapt to the game, then you will do fine, but you cant go into this game liek you have gone into the other Call of Duty games, you will have to change the way you play in order to get a good game, ACOG Sights i think will be the big hit with Snipers. As for the other guns, i liked the Assault Rifles and SMG’s, but i have always used them throughout out the previous Call of Duty
The main thing is, if you can accept change, you will love it. If not, then stick to Ghosts!
